Hans and Christina are the Pawrents in question– Hans is the owner and founder, and Christina is his assistant extraordinaire. From the little clan of guinea pigs young Hans would give goodnight kisses, to Christina's beloved family dog who spent hours outside with her in the yard, they both found love and companionship in the furry four-legged kind from an early age. When they met, it was a perfect match, and they've spent 18 happy years together.

In University, a few years after they met, Christina's dad brought her home a senior cat that had been left behind in a move, this led them to discover just how much Hans loved cats... and just how allergic he was to them. But his love goes farther than most— when they were ready to fly the nest and bought their first home, he underwent years of weekly and then monthly allergy shots just to get Christina to agree to bring home their first cat together. In 2015, they adopted their first dog, who quickly set them down the path of fostering. Despite coming to them super leash reactive, she adores other dogs, and they wanted give her lots of opportunities to safely socialize off-leash at home.

In the years since, they're proud to have fostered 49 dogs and cats, and currently have a busy household of seven resident pets! In the midst of all that, they've gotten pretty adept at juggling individualized feeding routines, managing medications and special needs, tag-teaming tricky tasks like nail trims, and mediating the occasional clash of personalities.

After years of long shifts away from home, Hans decided that it was time for a career change. He tried doing the same thing closer to home, but quickly realized he really wanted to pursue his passions in life- rather than just clock-in and out. A university  classmate of Christina's with a pet-sitting business of her own planted the idea in their heads, and after some research and deliberations, Rent-A-Pawrent was born!
